Oakland Spiders rookie Chander Boyd-Fliegel and head coach Liam Kreiss earned major 2026 Ultimate Frisbee Association season awards. The league’s Sept. 28 analysis detailed Boyd-Fliegel’s Rookie of the Year honor and Kreiss’ Coach of the Year recognition.
Recognition for Oakland’s championship season
Boyd-Fliegel finished with 33 assists and 30 goals, giving him 63 scores. He added six assists and eight goals across three postseason games, contributing directly to Oakland’s title run.
Kreiss guided the Spiders to an 11–1 regular-season record in his first year as head coach. Oakland went on to win the championship, its first league title since 2015.
CSB Take
The awards recognize contributions at two different levels of Oakland’s success. Boyd-Fliegel produced on the field as a rookie, while Kreiss guided a team that sustained its performance through the postseason.
