The Golden State Warriors defeated the Sacramento Kings 111–106 on Oct. 10 in preseason play. Yaxel Lendeborg led Golden State with 23 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. Sacramento stayed within reach behind a 25-point performance from Darius Acuff Jr.
The numbers behind the result
Golden State moved ahead with a 37-point second quarter and led 61–56 at halftime. The Warriors extended that margin to 89–81 entering the fourth quarter. Brandon Williams supplied 19 points on 7-for-8 shooting, while Gui Santos added 15.
Acuff also recorded eight assists and made four of his six three-point attempts. Sacramento outscored Golden State 25–22 in the final period but remained five points short. Stephen Curry scored eight points in a little more than 14 minutes for the Warriors.
CSB Take
Lendeborg’s combination of scoring, rebounding and passing made this a useful evaluation game for Golden State. Sacramento received another meaningful look at Acuff as a creator, even though the result went against the Kings. The next step for both teams is to see which of those contributions hold up when rotations tighten and regular-season minutes become more demanding.
