The Westmont Warriors women's volleyball team lost 3-0 at home to Point Loma Nazarene on September 12, 2026, dropping to 3-7 overall and 0-2 in PacWest play. Jordan Weston led with seven kills and a .308 hitting percentage in the defeat.

The Westmont Warriors women’s volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match to Point Loma Nazarene University in their home opener at Murchison Gymnasium in Santa Barbara on September 12, 2026. The Sea Lions secured the victory with set scores of 25-15, 25-14, and 25-22, handing Westmont their seventh loss of the season and leaving the Warriors winless in PacWest Conference play at 0-2.

Point Loma maintained control throughout the match, hitting .287 with 45 kills and seven service aces while out-blocking Westmont 10.0 to 5.0. Despite Westmont’s efforts, the Warriors managed 28 kills with a .092 hitting percentage overall.

Middle blocker Jordan Weston led Westmont with seven kills on a .308 hitting percentage and contributed one block assist. Audrey Hyde added six kills, two solo blocks, two block assists, and a team-high 11 digs. Camila Cornejo-Farmer contributed six kills, hitting .357. Setter Sierra McClure distributed 20 assists, and libero Rylee Elias recorded eight digs.

The third set was Westmont’s strongest, featuring a close battle with 16 ties and 10 lead changes as the Warriors traded blows with the Sea Lions. However, Westmont was unable to overcome errors late in the set, allowing Point Loma to complete the sweep.

Head coach Ruth McGolpin praised the performance of her middle blockers, saying, “Our two middles—Jordan Weston and Camila Cornejo-Farmer—did a fantastic job tonight, especially with their hitting percentages. We struggled with Point Loma’s serve, and hats off to them for putting pressure on us from the service line. We hung with them in certain moments, and set three was definitely one we could have had, but we just committed a few too many errors down the stretch.”

She also commended the home crowd, which included former players, coaches, alumni, and a spirited student section, calling the support an inspiration for the team and coaching staff. Westmont will travel next week to Northern California for PacWest matches against Dominican and Jessup as they look to rebound.

CSB Take

Westmont College’s women’s volleyball team faced a strong Point Loma Nazarene side that challenged them with aggressive serving and a balanced attack. While the Warriors showed resilience and flashes of quality—especially from their middle blockers and defensive players—the inability to capitalize on key moments in set three and overall consistency remains a hurdle. The team’s upcoming road trip will be a vital opportunity to grow, sharpen execution, and seek their first conference victory of the season.
