The Coachella Valley Lakers acquired guard Jahmir Young’s returning player rights from the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Sept. 29. They sent center Kylor Kelley’s returning rights and a 2027 first-round NBA G League draft pick, obtained through Rip City, to Sioux Falls.

The confirmed details

Young averaged 25.9 points, 8.5 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 1.8 steals over 31 appearances for Sioux Falls during 2025–26. He started all 31 games.

Young earned All-NBA G League Second Team recognition and was the league’s January Player of the Month. Kelley averaged 8.0 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks in 31 appearances for the Lakers affiliate last season.

CSB Take

The transaction changes the club’s returning-rights pool ahead of its first Coachella Valley season. Acquiring those rights gives the Lakers a development option; it does not itself announce an NBA contract.
