BOZEMAN, Mont. – The California State University Northridge (CSUN) Women’s Golf team finished ninth out of 11 teams at the Yellowstone Intercollegiate held September 21-22 at Riverside Country Club. The Matadors posted rounds of 305, 300 and 308 for a total score of 913 (+49).
Montana State successfully defended its team title by shooting a total of 874 (+10). Mallory Uselman of North Dakota earned the individual medalist honors with a 1-under 215.
Senior Nicole Tanoue led the Matadors, finishing tied for 24th with a total score of 11-over 227 after rounds of 78, 72 and 77. In the final round, Tanoue carded one birdie, 11 pars and six bogeys for a 5-over 77.
Freshman Ashley Han tied for 28th place at 12-over 228, posting rounds of 74, 77 and 77. Sophomore Sophie Cook finished tied for 29th at 13-over 229 with rounds of 76, 76 and 77. Senior Meghan Paracuelles tied for 37th at 15-over 231 after rounds of 79, 75 and 77. Freshman Moanikeala Finau tied for 54th at 23-over 239, and fellow freshman Olivia Yoon competed as an individual, finishing 44th at 17-over 233 with rounds of 81, 75 and 77.
The next event for CSUN Women’s Golf will be the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational on October 5 in Tacoma, Washington.
