Los Angeles Chargers Report Multiple Player Injuries Ahead of Week 9 vs. Houston Texans

Los Angeles Chargers report multiple injuries including limited practices for David Njoku and Kayode Awosika ahead of their Week 9 home game vs. the Houston Texans on November 7, 2026.

The Los Angeles Chargers released their latest injury report on November 5, 2026, ahead of their Week 9 NFL game against the Houston Texans on November 7 at SoFi Stadium.

Tight end David Njoku and linebacker Denzel Perryman were limited in practice for the second consecutive day due to fibula and pectoral injuries, respectively. Guard Kayode Awosika, sidelined since Week 2 with a fibula injury, also participated in limited practice Thursday. Wide receiver Brenen Thompson and safety Kendall Williamson did not practice due to quadricep/hamstring and calf injuries.

Linebacker Khalil Mack returned to full practice after a rest day Wednesday. Defensive back Deane Leonard practiced in a limited capacity following a concussion, while cornerbacks Donte Jackson and Rodney Shelley also participated in limited practice due to hamstring injuries. Linebacker Daiyan Henley and outside linebacker Bud Dupree practiced fully after limited sessions earlier in the week due to a shoulder injury and illness, respectively.

The Chargers enter Sunday’s home game as underdogs against the Texans. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. PT at SoFi Stadium.

CSB Take

The Los Angeles Chargers face critical challenges managing multiple injuries just days before their Week 9 matchup. David Njoku’s fibula injury and limited practice highlight concerns for the tight end position, which could impact the Chargers’ offensive options. Although Khalil Mack’s full return to practice is a positive sign, maintaining overall roster health will be vital for their ability to compete effectively against the Texans. This report underscores the importance of depth and injury management in the latter half of the NFL season.
