The No. 2 University of Southern California Women’s Golf team is set to compete in the East Lake Cup from October 26 to 28 at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia. This marks USC’s fourth consecutive appearance at the tournament, where the Trojans won both the team and individual titles in 2024.
USC will face No. 21 Arkansas, Eastern Michigan, and tied No. 25 Oklahoma State, all of whom qualified for NCAA match play last season. The event begins with one round of stroke play on Monday to determine seeding and the individual leader, followed by two rounds of match play on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Four players returning from last year’s lineup will compete: Kylie Chong, Sarah Hammett, Jasmine Koo, and Elise Lee. Bailey Shoemaker, a sophomore who has played in the lineup as a freshman and sophomore and was last season’s Tom Cousins Award winner, will also compete. Last year at East Lake Cup, Hammett shared third place in the shortened stroke play, while Koo captured the individual title in 2024.
All three days of the tournament will be televised nationally on the Golf Channel. Live scoring and results will be available on the USC women’s golf team’s schedule page at usctrojans.com. The winner of the Tom Cousins Award will be announced during Monday evening’s reception.
CSB Take
The East Lake Cup offers the No. 2 USC Women’s Golf team a nationally televised opportunity to compete against other top NCAA match-play qualifiers early in the season. With experienced players returning, including an individual champion and award winner, USC has a strong foundation to contend for team and individual honors again. Performing well in this format will provide valuable momentum and exposure for the Trojans as they continue their campaign.
