LOS ANGELES 6 University of Southern California sophomore guard Jazzy Davidson has been named to the 20-player preseason watch list for the 2027 Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year Award, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced on October 26, 2026.
The Nancy Lieberman Award recognizes the top point guard in NCAA Division I womens college basketball, honoring players who demonstrate exceptional leadership, playmaking, and ball-handling skills.
Davidson, a native of Clackamas, Oregon, earned several accolades during her freshman season, including USBWA Tamika Catchings National Freshman of the Year, WBCA NCAA Division I Freshman of the Year, The Athletic National Freshman of the Year, and Big Ten Freshman of the Year. She also secured spots on the All-Big Ten First Team, Big Ten All-Defensive Team, and received honorable mention All-America honors from the Associated Press and USBWA.
She started all 32 games for the Trojans last season and was the only Division I player to lead her team in all five major statistical categories while averaging at least 2.0 steals and 2.0 blocks per game. Davidson opened the 2026-27 season with 18 points, seven assists, and six rebounds in USC’s 78-76 exhibition victory over Cal on October 25 at the Galen Center in Los Angeles.
Fan voting for the Nancy Lieberman Award begins October 30, 2026, gradually narrowing the watch list to finalists by early 2027. USC will officially start its 2026-27 season on November 2 against UNLV at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with the game scheduled to air at 1 p.m. PT on CBS Sports Network.
