PWHL San Jose set a 30-game inaugural regular-season schedule in its Oct. 2 announcement. The schedule includes 13 home games at SAP Center. San Jose opens Dec. 5 against the Minnesota Frost.
The season and playoff structure
The team will compete in the PWHL’s new Western Conference. Its conference opponents are Detroit, Las Vegas, Minnesota, Seattle and Vancouver. San Jose will play 18 conference games and 12 games against Eastern Conference teams.
The league’s regular season is scheduled to run from Dec. 5 through April 18. Eight teams will qualify for the expanded playoffs, with four advancing from each conference. The opening round will use best-of-three series.
