University of San Francisco Men’s Soccer Falls to Seattle U 1-0 in West Coast Conference Match

San Francisco Men's Soccer lost at home 1-0 to Seattle U on a late goal by Aaron Leon despite outshooting the visitors 25-3. The Dons are now 5-6-4 overall and 1-2-3 in conference play.

San Francisco, Calif. – The University of San Francisco Men’s Soccer team suffered a 1-0 defeat against Seattle U on October 24, 2026, at Negoesco Stadium in a West Coast Conference contest. Seattle U secured the victory with a late goal by Aaron Leon in the 84th minute, assisted by Victor Akoum.

Despite dominating offensively with 25 total shots compared to Seattle U’s three, the San Francisco Dons were unable to convert, managing just three shots on goal. Braylon Jernigan, Nico Ruiz, and Brayden Beason accounted for those scoring opportunities. The Dons also earned 11 corner kicks but could not break through Seattle U’s defense.

San Francisco opened the match with strong pressure, taking 10 shots within the first 16 minutes, including a shot on goal by Beason in the opening minute. However, the one-goal advantage by Seattle U late in the second half proved decisive.

With the loss, the Dons’ overall record dropped to 5-6-4, with a 1-2-3 tally in conference play. They will next face Loyola Marymount University on October 31, 2026, in Los Angeles.

CSB Take

San Francisco’s inability to capitalize on a wide disparity in shot attempts highlights challenges in offensive finishing and breaking down disciplined defenses. The Dons’ persistent attack demonstrates potential, but greater efficiency will be necessary to improve their standing in the competitive West Coast Conference. The upcoming match against Loyola Marymount offers an opportunity for San Francisco to redirect momentum and secure a vital conference win.
