The Fort Wayne TinCaps named Jennifer Sylvester general manager Oct. 9. Mike Nutter, who previously held both president and general manager duties, will continue as the club’s president.
The announcement and its context
Sylvester is the first female general manager in Fort Wayne professional baseball history. She began with the TinCaps as an intern in January 2015 before becoming a full-time group ticket sales representative later that year.
Her subsequent roles included ticket and corporate account manager and assistant director of corporate partnerships. She enters her 13th Minor League Baseball season in 2027.
CSB Take
The promotion places an experienced member of the organization in charge of its general manager role. Nutter’s continued presidency maintains leadership experience while Sylvester takes on expanded responsibilities.
