WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. 11, 2026
On November 1, 2026, Los Angeles Rams cornerback Trent McDuffie and safety Quentin Lake, captains of the Rams secondary, delivered pivotal defensive performances in the NFL showdown against the Los Angeles Chargers. Returning to action after a two-week recovery from a groin injury, McDuffie led the Rams with nine tackles and intercepted a pass from Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert, returning it 26 yards to the 22-yard line.
Quentin Lake also made a significant play with an interception that contributed to multiple three-and-out drives by the Chargers. Lake leads the Rams in interceptions with three and ranks second in the NFL with 11 passes defended, while McDuffie follows closely with eight passes defended and two interceptions, placing him among the league leaders.
With teammate Jaylen Watson sidelined for the remainder of the season following shoulder surgery, much of the Rams secondary leadership and performance now rests on McDuffie and Lake. Defensive coordinator Chris Shula praised their dedication, calling them foundational figures who exemplify the defensive standards of the Rams.
